How does CropX know how many sensors to install in the field?

CropX uses proprietary software that analyzes components that affect the water holding capacity of the field, and determines specific “zones” that will benefit from more or less water. As a minimum, the software is designed to take into account the USDA soils map, topography from Google maps, and the solar angle to the field to calculate the zones.

The software can also incorporate EC type field mapping, grid mapping, GPS based topography, yield maps, and other indicators to achieve a more precise field map. The software also considers soil conditions at different depths, and applies these conditions to the sensor located at those depths.
